As I predicted. BCC did nothing and has turned a blind eye to the neighbour who, it appears, has done this all before. My biggest mistake was not contacting the police but believing BCC's lies about acting against bad tenants.
The head of estate management 'discussed' the situation and declarted that there was absolutely nothing they could do. I was told that for privacy now that my hedgerow has been destroyed as well as two trees, that I should ask the neighbour in question if it was alright for me to put up trestle. I have to asked the criminal damage and trespass neighbour whether it "might be alright" for me to put a privacy trestle on my fence. Ms Williams pointed out that I would need to pay for trestyle and the fitting of it.
That was it. Ms Williams had contractors clear all the waste the neighbour had thrown into my garden and also clear the bramble which comes through the neighbvours fence. Apparently she seemed a bit "miffed" that I was not fawning over her lack of doing anything.
Then it was noted that I had ben put in to move -yes, I have to move to let whoever comes here next to face bad neighbours and...I assume...have to move. Here is the biggest joke.
I got the email from the Council department and an appointment to register to move. I had to take proof of ID and travel into town to their office. I waited...waited a bit longer and then got called to a desk. I explained that Ms Williams had done the preliminary work but apparently all she had done was tell them I wanted to move (yes, she went to a Herculean effort there) and that all I need to do for that was come in an use a self service screen.
Anyway, the fella typed and then said "I just need to send the code to your mobile phone". I said I did not have a mobile phone. There was a blank look for a few silent seconds then it was explained that they could not even add my name to a form unless they had the code sent to a mobile phone. Absolutely nothing could be done. I asked if they could send the code to a landline? NO. It MUST be a mobile phone. "So what if youyr tenant does not have a mobile phone" I asked. "We all assume that everyone has a mobile phone" was the response. So, if you are elderly and do not have a mobile phone or a computer you are screwed.
I asked WHY the email had not explained that a mobile phone was required and... "Well, because we assume everyone has a mobile" So, I spent good money on a bus across town and a walk after that then a wait for a long time to be told "You have wasted your time".
So, I asked my sister for her mobile to get the code... Council website will not even acknowledge me as a tenant.
Incompetence should be added to the Bristol City Council title and really a notice on its page about dealing with bad neighbours and anti social behaviour stating "BCC does NOT do any of this but it sounded good"
